Program Description:
This course focuses on conflict management and negotiations through prevention and resolution. Conflict prevention ensures you know the under utilized human behavior and relationship building skills that minimize conflict potential and impact. Prevention essentially attacks stakeholder and organizational conflicts at the source. The importance of this is often grossly underestimated. Conflict resolution focuses on skill development for negotiations and handling real time conflicts.

Organizational success is rooted in successful relationships at all levels. Conflict is a natural part of any work environment and must be addressed in a positive effective manner. The author of Conflict Resolution stated �Up to 42% of an employees time may be spent engaging in and/or resolving conflict.�

When properly handled�
Conflicts are resolved in a manner that maintains relationships and produces mutually agreeable outcomes.
When improperly handled�
Conflicts can create barriers to organizational efficiency that can linger and/or spill over to other areas outside of the original situation.

James T. Brown Ph.D., president of SEBA� Solutions Inc., a Registered Education Provider for the Project Management Institute, has provided training and consulting services for dozens of companies nationally and internationally. He has sixteen years of NASA experience that includes "hands on" experience as a team member, project manager and serving in executive level organizational leadership roles.

He provides consulting services in project management and has served as a subject matter expert for a leading project software vendor. James is the author of The Handbook of Program Management. He also provides project management training through the online training portal Onepdu.com. He has been published in PM Network, PE Magazine, PMI Community Post, Projects@Work, and PM World Today. A recognized authority in project management, he is a frequently invited keynote speaker on project management areas of interest and leadership.
Dr. Brown has a patent for a project scheduling methodology, and has received numerous awards including "Engineer of the Year" from the Cape Canaveral Technical Societies and is a recipient of the "NASA Public Service Medal" for exceptional contributions to NASA's mission. He is a member of the Project Management Institute, the National Speakers Association and the National Association of Corporate Directors.
James has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida, a MS in Engineering Management from Florida Institute of Technology and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tennessee State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Speaking Professional.

Financial Policies:

Member Discounts: You must be listed by PMI as a PMI Dallas Chapter Member at the time of payment in order to receive the PMI Dallas Chapter member discount.

Early Bird Discounts: Prepayment is required to receive Early Bird rates. Prepayment must be received via online credit card by PMI Dallas Chapter prior to the Early Bird deadline posted for each event (typically more than a week prior to the event.)

Cancellations: If you must cancel a reservation, please use the cancellation link on the home page. You will be asked to provide the reservation id emailed to you in your confirmation. Refunds must be requested separately by sending detailed payment information to Registration Director via the Contact Us page. No refunds will be offered after the Early Bird deadline for the event.

Note regarding special dietary requirements: Vegetarian alternatives will be available on the buffet menu. As with most catered menus, there are not selections available to meet other special dietary requirements, and we encourage guests with those needs to eat prior to their arrival. The cost for meeting attendance is the same.
