Project managers all know the importance of communications for a successful project. Participants of all levels of experience will find value in this interactive course. The course presents the PMBOK's core concepts of Communications Planning, Manage Stakeholders, Information Distribution, and Performance Reporting in a lecture format balanced with classroom team exercises. In addition to learning basic through more advanced best practices in communications planning, participants will learn how to create a project communications management plan. There will be numerous opportunities to share experiences with your classmates and a book will be provided for further personal study after the course.
This is a great course for managers, supervisors and project managers who need to learn about project management. This class can be used towards the required project management training hours for either the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) or Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam.
In addition to valuable contact hours, each attendee will receive a binder with class information on project management, plus a CD containing class exercises and templates to assist in managing your own projects.

In keeping with our strong support for the development of project
managers, the PMI Dallas Chapter provides the PM101 – Basic Project
Management Training Series. This series is intended for new project
managers who have just started in the profession and may have
difficulty understanding some of the principals of project management.
It is facilitated by the volunteer Education Committee members, all of
whom are PMPs and freely give their time to prepare and deliver these
sessions. Please note that this series is not intended to be used as
the sole preparation for the PMP exam. Each course in the series can be
taken individually without prerequisites.
