Program Description:
As project managers we know the importance of Risk Management for a successful project. Recent events have also emphasized the need to better manage Risk, regardless whether in engineering, financial services/investing, or other areas of work or life. PM203 Risk Management presents the PMBOK’s core concepts of Risk Management Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response Planning, and Risk Monitoring & Control in a lecture format balanced with classroom team exercises allowing students to put to practice what was just learned. In addition to learning basics participants will learn how to manage Risk through the PMBOK’s Risk lifecycle from Planning to Monitoring & Control. There will be numerous opportunities to share experiences with your classmates and a book will be provided for further personal study after the course.

In keeping with our strong support for the development of project managers, the PMI Dallas Chapter provides the PM203 : Risk Management Training Series.
PM203 Risk Management was created with a curriculum of "what we'd tell a new project manager about project Risk Management if we had the time." It is facilitated by the volunteer Education Committee members, all of whom are PMPs and freely give their time to prepare and deliver these sessions. Please note that this series is not intended to be used as the sole preparation for the PMP exam. Each course in the series can be taken individually without prerequisites.
